Possibility of exporting symbol sets?

Hello there,
I'm a student from Germany and created my own symbol set in order to make it easier to write formulars into the office writer. Is there any possibility to share that set so my fellow students can take advantage of that?
Any help would be very welcome :)

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Symbol sets are stored in The OpenOffice User Profile at user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Math.xcu. Other students could replace their symbol sets by copying your Math.xcu to their profiles. I don't see a method to merge your changes into their symbol sets unless they (carefully) use a text editor. You could presumably write a program, say in Perl, to merge these text files. Anyone making direct changes to the user profile should make appropriate backups of the files first.

If this answered your question please go to your first post use the Edit button and add [Solved] to the start of the title. You can select the green checkmark icon at the same time.

Sorry for double posting, but I have just tried to access the math.xcu file as you mentioned above and its strange that I don't seem to have such folders :?:
Went to C:/User/myusername/AppData/Roaming/openoffice/4/user - and just couldnt find a "registry" afterwards. Am I missing something?

You'll note that I use OOo 3.2 and a Mac, while you use AOO 4 and Windows. Either of those differences may affect where Math.xcu is stored. Use Windows facilities to search for the location of Math.xcu in your user profile or in the user profiles of the other students. I can't help further because I don't run AOO 4 and thankfully don't use Microsnot Windows. I presume Windows 7 has a way to search for files if you know the file's name.
