Right-click on and ODT document in Windows Explorer, Open With, Choose Program, and Always use OpenOffice to open files of this type.

Yes, I do open my documents with openoffice 2.0 but when I do I get the Filter options tab...and the tab gives me no other options but "ok" or "cancel" or "help"..when I press ok it messes up my doc and when I press cancel it closes the doc and when I press help it just sends me to a help page about ASCII filter options....

Your file associations seem to be messed up. ODT files should be associated with OpenOffice. Follow my previous advice to reassociate ODT documents with OpenOffice. Otherwise, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, OpenOffice, Change, and Repair the installation.
