I need a simple chart but.....
I need a simple chart from my data. The data is current in amps and the labels will be the time the reading was taken. In order to get good resolution on the chart I have a high sample rate of 1000 data points. I cant obviously display 1000 labels they just look a mess. Can I just put in a time for every 20th sample or something like that? Please, if you can keep this simple as im struggling just to get a chart at all! Thankyou for your kind help

If your "labels" are times, they should be numbers, though possibly formatted as time-of-day, and you should make an XY (Scatter) plot, not a Line plot. Calc will automatically format the axes of a scatter plot to place tick marks at reasonable intervals. If you have trouble getting a scatter plot to work, please upload an example of your Calc file. To upload a file, click Post Reply and look for the Attachments tab just below the box where you type a response.
Lupp - "amps" is short for amperes, the SI unit of electric current.

Re: I need a simple chart but.....
I also supposed "amps" was meant to mean some A (Ampère), and the labels should show the time.
However, there are standards. The attached example was made with LibO V 24.8.3.
Older versions of LibO and any AOO/OO.o will not be able to interpret/show every detail the way it was designed.
