CALC - Getting Exchange rates via API/Scripts into Calc

Post by craniumzstarz »

I already made this work on Google Docs Spreadsheet, but I don't want to use Google's services for this at all.
I've also come to understand that this is perhaps easier to pull off in Google Docs than it is in OpenOffice Calc.

All I need is getting the current exchange rates from an exchange api appear in OpenOffice Calc cells.

The sites I need to extract data are like this:
https://btc-e.com/api/2/btc_usd/ticker
see: https://recovercrypto.org
This is the start of the Script, which apparently creates a Refresh button into Google Docs to update latest values
