Hello fellow writers,
I'm writing a long book using OpenOffice Writer. The online advice I found says to insert links to pictures, rather than inserting pictures, so that the document file doesn't get unmanageable. So I did.
Those pictures are not visible in the document now. In their places are links, theoretically to the locations where those pictures are -- except that those links now are wrong. All of them. Some of them having portions of the file address missing; others have portions of the file address wrongly repeated.
How can I keep this from happening?
FWIW, I save the documents in .odt format, and I've expanded the memory available to openoffice as recommended online.
(I also have a separate concern, which is in a separate post.)
Thank you.

Re: Links to objects get garbled
For the record, LibreOffice has improved the code regarding pictures. It may be much more robust.
Personally, I embed the pics and I've no problem with that (some files with hundreds of pics). But they are optimized for the odt file, see: [Tutorial] Some useful hints on using images.
