OpenOffice.org and MS Office 2007 files

Is there a plan to allow Open office to open word, excel, 2007 files withouth having to import them. If i save my file as a 2000/2003 office file it will open straight away?

This has been asked before, but basically, they are working on having OOo open Microsoft's OpenXML files, but it probably won't be ready until version 3.0 (slated for later this year).

Don't ask me for an update on getting Word and Excel to open the much older and much more widely used OpenDocument Format, which is OOo's default file format, among other programs.
