My old Windows 10 pc went bad, and all data, including OpenOffice files, was lost. My backup wasn't working. I've installed OpenOffice on my new Windows 11 PC. Is there any database held by OpenOffice, that would have the missing data form my crashed computer, so I could recover it? I fear the answer is no.
Thanks in advance...Len

Re: transferring data from previous computer
OpenOffice files are only saved wherever you save them. There is no automatic saving at a remote location.

Re: transferring data from previous computer
Although OpenOffice keeps the recent Documents list, this is only pointers to the locations of the files on your computer. If your hard disk has not been trashed, either by the crash or by being junked, it may be possible to retrieve your OpenOffice files. If so, and they are then moved to your new computer, as you open each it will show up again on the OpenOffice Recent Documents list.
