[Solved] 4K display scaling/blurry screen Windows 10

Post by PotatoFace »

Here's the steps specific to Windows 10:

C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice 4\program (or wherever yours is installed)

Right click on soffice.exe

Properties > Compatibility > Change high DPI settings > Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: > Application > OK > Apply

This will automatically fix the blurry text/interface across all OpenOffice programs when using a 4K display (or anything above 1080p) :super:

This did the trick! I might add that you have to close and open OO for the fix to take effect. Thank you!

Thank you so much!! I purchased a new monitor Friday, and have been so frustrated with the view of the text. This completely solved the problem. I'm overjoyed!

that solution works, even on windows 8.1. Very noticeable on the picturebox control scaling down from original image size.
BUT that solution adds other visualization problems such as very small icons, on base for example. Of course I am meaning with 4K resolutions. I think that we go to need a better DPI handling for all the AOO suite.
