Document is only showing #s
I was trying to open a document that closed so I could do updates for my computer and for Open Office. When I finished I went to open the document and there is nothing but pages of #s. I have never had any issue with this program before. Is there a way to fix this?

Try LibreOffice. LO cannot fix the faulty file, but LO can operate with fewer critical errors._________________________

And often create backup copies of your important documents.

You are well advised to switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice. There are several good reasons for this some of which are given here: [Tutorial] Considering a Switch from OpenOffice to LibreOffice? Some Useful Information

Don't be misled: the file is damaged beyond repair. Changing to LibreOffice _may_ prevent such an error, due usually to overhasty close down of the computer, happening again, but it _will not_ fix the damaged file.
