Can't write in cells of table
Can't write in cells of table
I've set up a straight forward table with 2 columns and 5 rows but when I click in a cell to make and entry nothing happens? Anything typed does not appear in the cell. It appears to be locked. I've never had this before. Any ideas?

Can you upload a sample file (see How to attach a document here)?

Is the Character format set to hidden or are the table cells protected?
Have you tried just deleting the table and starting again with a new one?

Re: Can't write in cells of table
You’re experiencing an issue with table cells in OpenOffice Writer.
Right-click on the table and select ‘Table Properties’. Under the ‘Table’ tab, ensure that the ‘Protect against manual changes’ option is not checked. Sometimes, the Writer’s number recognition feature can cause issues. Go to Tools → Options → OpenOffice Writer → Table and uncheck 'Number recognition’.
Ensure that the cells are not formatted in a way that prevents text display. You can access the ‘Table Format’ dialog box from the menu bar by selecting Table → Table Properties. For your tables, check Table → Table Properties, then the ‘Text Flow’ tab where options control table and row split/break.
