Using OpenOfficeWriter I find that my list of Recent Documents is NO LONGER adding my newly created documents. That list now contains 10 items.
I CAN recover the newly created docs by going to OPEN, but it is much more convenient to have these new docs appear on the Recent Documents list, as they always have in the past.
Why is this happening? Whatever did I do to cause this?
Thank you for your help. ... wdc

Re: Recent Documents listing
10 items is the default maximum for that list in OpenOffice. You may be under a common misunderstanding about that list.
It is a list of the last 10 documents that were opened in OpenOffice.

Re: Recent Documents listing
Try the LibreOffice. It has 25 items by default:

Re: Recent Documents listing
No need to switch to LibreOffice, just install the History Master extension that allows longer lists.

Re: Recent Documents listing
It seems a setting choice under File -> Clear List could read "Number of Files" and could be configurable by the user. This would allow for increasing the number of files without having to use History Master

Re: Recent Documents listing
You can adjust the value in the LibreOffice. See it on the picture, and on the linked page.a setting choice under File -> Clear List could read "Number of Files" and could be configurable by the user.

The Apache OpenOffice has not such feature, and the development of the AOO is very slow today. You must wait it for many years, or decades.
Thy the LibreOffice (at least a portable version of it).

Re: Recent Documents listing
It looks like that extension is no longer available. Is there any update to this? It seems a strange thing that one cannot configure the number of recent files. I found someone suggesting editing 4/user/registrymodifications.xcu but the suggestion was to look formerlijn wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 7:58 am No need to switch to LibreOffice, just install the History Master extension that allows longer lists.
