Edit: Split from TimeStamp Backup because you want AutoSave, not timestamped backups.

i have installed this extension.

Maybe I got it wrong but I understood that it's possible to set it to autosave my CALC file ?

But how do I do that or is this not an option with this extension?

AutoSave is not an option with this. You must invoke it, either from its button on the toolbar, or from its /File menu entry. Ctrl S will always Save a document - get in the habit of using that instinctively,

Thats the problem.
I have some people scanning barcodes and I don't trust they always will remember to save .

Would be nice to autosave instead of drop 1000 scanned barcodes

But what is the diff. between this save extension and the standard save button?

This extension Saves a copy of the file, with a unique time and date added, so one can revert to an earlier version. By default it Saves such copies in the folder pointed to by /Tools /Options /OpenOffice /Paths : Backups.

Calc is not an Excel clone, although largely functionally equivalent.
