Neither 4.1.8 nor 4.1.7 will run

I downloaded 418, but it wouldn't run - soffice error or nothing, just terminates in about a minute. So I went back to 417 but now that won't run either!
Here is the latest error from 417:

https://libreoffice.org will do. It is the successor to OpenOffice since 2011.

I I got a notice from openoffice of a new version. I've been using open office for years, and (so far) I see no reason to change. Thx.

I used to use OpenOffice from 2001 until 2015 and stopped using it because too many issues remained unfixed. LibreOffice is the same program that OpenOffice would be if it had been developed significantly during the past 8 years. If AOO can not run on a recent system, LO may be the one and only viable solution.

I am not specifically referring you to your own entries on that other website. I posted the information to point out to others who are attempting to assist here that there is extra information there, which may be relevant to your problem and which you did not see fit to share with this thread.

If you think I am annoying and not helpful, then I will not annoy you by attempting to solve your problem.
